rant 004: the meaning of life

that's all fine and good.
but i want
SO
MUCH
MORE
of the in between.

it's the stuff that happens in between
that i'm interested in.
those in between things are what life is about.
the traveling. the books read. the movies seen.
the love made - before and after babies.
discovering yourself and others.
discovering yourself IN others.
friends lost and gained.
family passing. children born.

plus reading that didn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
kinda miffed actually.
i don't want to be fed this life.
told what success looks like.

this seems to be what some folks THINK life
is supposed to be about.
the map. the strategy. the plan.
plans really don't work.
not with life anyway.
there is always a curve ball waiting to smack you in the face
around every corner.
you get comfortable & BLAM.
change is afoot.

i say damn the plan and throw away the map.
create new paths where the grass is green and untread.
invent your own way.

tangent: naked toes in green grass feels so great.
i can't wait for the warm weather.
