pretty in pink.

i'm all for doing things differently
just for the sake of it.

hence, my giddy embrace of Julian Schnabel's
new building, recently revealed in the West Village.
Gawker did an piece on this
and referenced comments from the head of
the Greenwich Village Historical Preservation Society,
or something like that.
of course, he hates it.

i mean, i GET opposition to turning the West Village
into these flacid wanna-be erections
of brushed glass & metal.
they really take away from the sentiment
of the West Village.
but this big hot pink burst of "HEEEEEEEY!"
what's not to love?

what - it clashes?
hell, that's what's so fantastic about it.

and how perfectly camp to keep all
that pink hidden & then DRAMATICLY
drop the tarps to reveal it on a
lovely summer day for all to see.
best shocking pink i've seen since
Sharon Stone "accidentally" showed
her vag to the world in Basic Instinct.

i bet the local gasps were audible
& the swoons accompanied by clucthed pearls.
love it.
